Interestingly enough, it was recently (in 2017) bought by a new company that has hopes of reviving the game. At it's peak, Utopia had around 100,000 active players in it's world, however now it stands at around 3000. Launched in January 1999 by a university student (Mehul Patel) under the umbrella of the company Solaria Games, Utopia was an evolution from the BBS and MUD games that were the rage of the online communities at the time. seeing as it was pretty much numbers and text based, with nothing to interest the short attention span of today's "gamers"! It was a game that I played waaay back in the '90s and I was expecting that it had died a long time ago. Utopia was a hardcore strategy game that incorporated a bit of RPG, real-life clanning and diplomacy and some serious number crunching and spread-sheeting. I remember fondly this game called Utopia which I would regularly log in to whilst passing a computer lab or whilst checking my email (this was before the days of easy mobile internet access.). with nerdy interests (waaaayyyyy before it got cool.) like computer games and online multiplayer gaming. In my university days (and still now.), I was a serious hard core nerd.

However they consume a lot of energy, so use them when you need to. Collect unique artifacts that unlock new abilities. You must plant a bomb and blow up the main computer. Fight your way through waves of enemies to reach the core. The data discs are hunted by technician characters whose job it is to keep people in a dream world by all means. Use a variety of futuristic cannons to fight enemies. Kill enemies and collect special data CDs after them to help rip people out of a fictional reality. Utopia City protagonist is the last hope that the virtual world will not swallow reality.
In order for people to return to real life, Mastermind must be destroyed. So even after death, a person's consciousness will continue to exist. To plunge into virtual reality you must sacrifice your mind to Mastermind. In an instant, this utopian world is more threatening than real. Initially, everyone who was tired of everyday life went to this world, but soon just lazy people, geniuses, madmen and violent criminals began to appear there. People are increasingly retreating into virtual reality, where they live a whole new life in the futuristic city of Utopia City. Utopia City is a first-person action game whose events unfold in the world of the dystopian future of 2091.
